What are Diamond mobile numbers?

Diamond is the highest of VIP Numbers’ five merchandising tiers – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. It is our own tier, not a classification by Ofcom, the mobile networks or the wider industry. A Diamond mobile number is an ordinary UK mobile number, not a premium-rate number: calls to it cost the same as calls to any UK mobile.

What makes a number suitable for the Diamond collection?

Each number is chosen by hand on the clarity of the whole number: long digit runs, very few different digits, repeated or echoed structures and clear counting sequences. Current examples include:

  • 07555 444444 – a triple 5 followed by six 4s in a row.
  • 07711 111117 – seven 1s in a row in the middle of the number, between two 7s.
  • 07555 000500 – only 5s and 0s after the 07: 555, 000, then 5 and 00.
  • 07350 607080 – counts up in tens: 50, 60, 70, 80.

These describe the current collection, not a fixed formula.

Diamond vs Platinum mobile numbers

Platinum is the tier directly below Diamond, and prices in the two tiers can overlap. Placement depends on the whole number – prefix, pattern clarity, digit structure and presentation – so price alone does not decide the tier. Compare Platinum Numbers, or see Gold Numbers for structured counting and repeated patterns.

Choosing a Diamond mobile number

Say each number out loud and consider:

  • How quickly the pattern can be understood at a glance.
  • Whether the number can be remembered as one or two clear ideas.
  • Which prefix you prefer, such as a repeated prefix like 07555 or 07999.

Buying and transferring a Diamond number

Every number on this page is in stock and can be bought online. We send your PAC code the same day during service hours (9am–9pm UK time, 7 days a week); orders placed after 9pm receive it the following morning. When you submit the PAC to your network before 5pm on a working day, the transfer normally completes by 6pm on the following working day. You give the PAC code to the UK network you choose, and that receiving network completes the transfer.

Diamond mobile numbers: common questions

What is a Diamond mobile number?

An ordinary UK mobile number from VIP Numbers’ Diamond tier, our highest merchandising tier, chosen for an exceptionally clear whole-number pattern.

Is Diamond an official mobile-number classification?

No. Diamond is VIP Numbers’ own merchandising tier. It is not an Ofcom, mobile-network or industry classification.

What makes a number Diamond at VIP Numbers?

Each number is chosen by hand on the strength and clarity of the whole number. There is no fixed formula, and price alone does not decide it.

What is the difference between Platinum and Diamond mobile numbers?

Platinum is the tier directly below Diamond. Diamond is a small selection of numbers whose whole pattern is exceptionally clear.

Why can Platinum and Diamond prices overlap?

The tier reflects the overall strength of each number, not its price, so a Platinum and a Diamond number can be priced the same.

How do I buy and transfer a Diamond number?

Check out online and we send your PAC code the same day during service hours. Give it to the UK network you choose, and that network completes the transfer. Timings are set out above.

Our standard procedure for providing customers with mobile numbers is by issuing a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). PACs can be used immediately and enable your mobile network to legally transfer your new mobile number within 24 hours.
