What are 2222 mobile numbers?

A 2222 mobile number is a standard UK 07 mobile number built around a block of 2s. The rounded shape of the digit 2 makes a group of them easy to pick out when the number is written down or shown on a screen, and “two-two-two-two” is quick to say. 2222 describes digits inside the number – it is not a prefix – and calls to these numbers are charged like calls to any other UK mobile.

2222, 22222 and longer runs of 2s

The current collection covers several lengths of repeated 2s:

  • 07926 842222 – four 2s to finish.
  • 07862 622222 – five 2s to finish.
  • 07492 222247 – five 2s in a row in the middle.
  • 07882 222227 – six 2s in a row, between an 8 and a 7.

Numbers with four, five and six 2s are listed together here rather than split across separate pages, and the selection changes as numbers sell.

Where can repeated 2s appear in a mobile number?

Ending runs, such as 07926 842222, put the pattern in the final digits, which some buyers prefer. Middle runs, such as 07492 222247, make the centre of the number the memorable part, so the number is easy to say as a short start, a block of 2s and a short finish. Which works better is a personal choice.

Choosing a memorable number with repeated 2s

Look at the whole number, not just the count of 2s. Points worth comparing:

  • How the number looks written down – a long block of 2s stands out clearly.
  • Whether the 2s sit in the middle or at the end.
  • How easily the number can be read out in two or three chunks.
  • Other memorable digits around the 2s – 07999 022222, for example, pairs the 07999 prefix with five 2s at the end.

For other single-digit runs, see our 0000 mobile numbers and 1111 mobile numbers, or browse every pattern in Available Numbers.

How do I transfer my new mobile number?

We send your PAC code the same day during service hours (9am–9pm UK time, 7 days a week); orders placed after 9pm receive it the following morning. You activate a SIM with the UK network you choose and give them the PAC code. When you submit the PAC to your network before 5pm on a working day, the transfer normally completes by 6pm on the following working day.

Our standard procedure for providing customers with mobile numbers is by issuing a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). PACs can be used immediately and enable your mobile network to legally transfer your new mobile number within 24 hours.
