How to Transfer Your Mobile Number Using a PAC Code

If you have purchased a VIP mobile number and want to transfer it to your chosen UK network, the process is straightforward. In this guide we explain exactly what a PAC code is, how to use it correctly and what to expect during the transfer process.

What is a PAC Code?

A PAC code (Porting Authorisation Code) is an official code that authorises the transfer of a mobile number from one network to another. When you purchase a VIP number from VIP Numbers, we will provide you with a PAC code within 24 hours via WhatsApp. You then give this code to your chosen UK network and they complete the transfer within 24 hours.

Before You Start — Important

Before giving your PAC code to your new network, please make sure you have activated your new SIM card first. Insert the new SIM card into your phone and top it up before starting the porting process. If your new SIM card is not activated before porting, your number may not transfer successfully and could get stuck in the process.

Step by Step — How to Transfer Your Number

Step 1 — Purchase your VIP number Browse our collection at vipnumbers.com and choose your perfect number. Contact us via WhatsApp and complete your payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, bank transfer and cryptocurrency.

Step 2 — Activate your new SIM card Before doing anything else, insert your new SIM card into your phone and activate it. Top it up with some credit to ensure it is fully active.

Step 3 — Receive your PAC code Our team will contact you via WhatsApp within 24 hours to provide your PAC code and guide you through the transfer process step by step.

Step 4 — Contact your new network Get in touch with your chosen UK network and tell them you want to transfer a number using a PAC code. You can do this by calling their customer service team or visiting a store.

Step 5 — Provide your PAC code Give your PAC code to your new network. They will process the transfer, which usually takes 24 hours to complete.

Step 6 — Your number is active Once the transfer is complete, your VIP number will be active on your new SIM card. You do not need to change your SIM card — the number simply transfers to your existing SIM.

How to Submit Your PAC Code on Major UK Networks

Important Warning — Do Not Cancel After Giving Your PAC Code

Once you have given your PAC code to your new network and they have accepted it, you cannot cancel the porting process. If you call to cancel after giving the PAC code, the network will cancel the entire number and you will lose your VIP number permanently. Please make absolutely sure you want to proceed before giving your PAC code to your new network.

How Long Does the Transfer Take?

Most transfers complete within 24 hours of submitting your PAC code. In some cases it may take up to two working days depending on the network.

Do I Need to Change My SIM Card?

No. Your existing SIM card stays the same. The PAC code simply transfers the new number to your existing SIM on your chosen network.

How Long is My PAC Code Valid?

PAC codes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. You can use your PAC code at any time within this period.
